I am pretty excited about the chance to have one place that is private and can have all the requirements and expectation we have for the instructors at Volta ao Mundo.
First of all, I would like to tell everyone MY idea of Capoeira Group. The advent of Capoeira groups is relatively new in capoeira and it started, i believe, in the 80’s. (I can research for you if it is important). I never really heard of a capoeira group before Abada, Cordao de Ouro, Muzenza, etc started and it was not before 80-something.

My idea of a group is a place that works with people with the same ideology. If you want to compare with, let’s say, car industry for example, Ford and VW are amazing companies and sometimes people choose one or the other. There is no right or wrong and it comes down to free will to go with what you fell more comfortable with. I strongly believe that capoeira is the same. You should stick with a group of people that is going to make you grow and achieve you capoeira goals. That’s exactly what I want Volta ao Mundo to be about. Capoeira started with people seeking freedom and it doesn’t make sense to me that we should create so many rules that people would feel like slaves and then history would just repeat itself.

For this reason I want all the teachers and instructors to be in touch with me and each other as much as possible. You can’t have a healthy relationship with anyone if you don’t put your time in it, don’t you agree. Quality time without quantity time is a myth.
